Spider Rock by Rhavethstine Spider Rock by Rhavethstine
Spider Rock of Canyon de Chelly, AZ. One of the most impressive free-standing spires I've ever seen. If you pay attention, you can pick out small tents at its base for some scale. Haven't seen too many notable pictures of this place on DeviantArt, so hopefully you enjoy. :)

Spider Rock by ~Rhavethstine "Spider Rock by :devRhavesthine: is a truly amazing piece of landscape photography. The spire itself is impressive. Add that with some magic hour light and a talented photographer like Rhavesthine and you've got something special. His entire gallery is full of landscape magic. Check him out!" Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on the point of view), climbing is completely off-limits. It is considered sacred to the Native Americans who still inhabit the area. Apparently people have ascended it prior to the ban though. :)

This is amazing. You should also check out Independence Monument in Grand Junction, CO (that's right around where I'm from); this photo reminds me of that.
