The moon rises over Grand Falls during a sunset (looking east).
This is an area of the Little Colorado that was at one point damed by a nearby lava flow. Grand Falls is the point where the river ate around the natural dam, only to spill back into its original river channel. The above version was captured this weekend, but here's an old take (almost two years
) on the falls for comparison.
Do you ever find yourself returning to the same local area if you only have a few hours in the day to waste? I'm stuck in that rut right now. I need to get out to new places.
