This was taken near Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, looking north-westish. There was a fire out there somewhere, giving a tiny bit of warmth to the very last light of the day.

What a beautiful scene. The soft light makes this look painterly. Well done!

Quick, James, process this thing.
It looks far too real and, Heaven forbid, it looks natural.
The PS Posse will be coming to get you for felonious nonconformity.
I'm working my way through the "Landscape" gallery and I have to tell you, this stands among those few images that really rate extended viewing.
No doubt my photographic biases are showing but I don't mind that.

Hehe, PS Posse. Wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of that crowd, now would I? :giggle: Thanks, Ralph. :)

Great composition, interesting processing and the little blur of the 1 sec makes it look soft an nice.
The landscape itsel is also very awesome...so many yellow flowers on that big "field" :) .

I was unsure about the long exposure when I took it, but I'm glad it turned out merely soft and not motion blurred. Thanks for the kind words.

That is absolutely gorgeous. It's so open and remove. And such a clear sky! I can imagine setting a blanket out and stargazing after the sun went down. Thank you for posting this!

Thanks for looking. :) And stargazing wouldn't be a bad idea in this part of the world!

was that the fire that was near the inner basin? I like the composition here and the colors.
